Beaches

Our Park is located approximately 600m from the beautiful Silver Sands beach. This beach is a  child friendly option, for those who like a bit of surf. To access this beach simply turn right at the entry of the park and walk 180m towards Henson St.  Turn left onto Henson St and keep walking until you hit Henson Park and the Silver Sands beach. Henson park has a playground and BBQ facilities. To the left of this entry point, all the way to Stewart St is a dog friendly beach, where dogs are permitted off leash.

For those looking for a kid friendly flat beach try Lido beach, located 5 minutes by car. This beach is a man-made swimming area and perfect for little ones. There is plenty of sand and a shelter if you wish to protect yourself from the sun’s rays. The beach adjoins Keith Holmes Reserve which has many facilities available such as barbeques, all day parking and play equipment for the kids. This beach also adjoins the Marina, so has a lot to offer and is definitely a winner.

Another superb beach is Town Beach located in Central Mandurah. Access is via Dolphin Drive in the Mandurah Ocean Marina. Turn right past the Dolphin Pool to find the car park overlooking this popular swimming and fishing beach. It is close to Deli/shops/restaurants/markets which are located nearby at the Mandurah Ocean Marina. There is some shelter provided, bike racks and Public Toilets/Shower.

Surfing

Mandurah is a local dream destination just 50 minutes south of Perth. Some of Australia’s most spectacular waterways including the Peel-Harvey estuary, which is twice the size of Sydney Harbour, is located in Mandurah. For surf on Mandurah’s Peel Coast, check out The Pyramids, Tim’s Thicket, Avalon Point and Falcon Bay.

Between the vibrant coastal city of Mandurah and the pristine islands are reefs of Rockingham’s Shoalwater Islands Marine Park. Rockingham offers a wide range of water activities including windsurfing and kite surfing opportunities, with Secret Harbour, Palm Beach and Safety Bay being popular spots for learning how to surf.

Water Sports

Fishing & Crabbing

Mandurah is famous for blue swimmer crabs which can be caught easily usually during summer from late January to April. We have crab cookers to cook up your catch, located at reception. The crab cooking elements are located in the fish bay. Check out this link for more information on crabbing and fishing.

Mandurah also provides an abundance of fishing opportunities around the Peel Harvey Estuary. This include fishing for Black Bream around the canals or up the Murray River or beach fishing for herring, tailor,whiting, skippy, mulloway or salmon. Species are dependent on seasons and location. Our fish bay provides an easy spot for you to clean, scale and BBQ your fish ready for you to enjoy.

Eating Out

Mandurah is chocablock full of great dining options, from bakery options to fine dining, from gelato to churros, from lollies to chocolates and everything in between. You will find lots of eateries along Mandurah terrace, at the foreshore, at Dolphin Quay and Mandurah Forum.

If you are willing to travel a little further abroad check out the Pinjarra Bakery.

For those wanting options within walking distance, try the Chows Chinese, the Silver Sands hotel, the Mandurah Bakery and hot bread shop and Mandurah Kebab House and Turkish Bakery. Alternatively grab some groceries at the IGA Silver sands located within walking distance of the park and cook up a storm in our camp kitchen.

Kids Activities

Along the Mandurah Foreshore/estuary there are lots of fun things the kids can do. There are numerous playgrounds, the Aqua Fun water Park, King’s Carnival and mini golf. King’s Carnival is open 10am-5pm Weekends, Public and School Holidays. Mini Golf is open every day from 9am-5pm.
